Let's Start with some theory and history.

Blogger is a blog-publishing service that allows multi-user blogs with time-stamped entries. It was developed by Pyra Labs, which was bought by Google in 2003. Generally, the blogs are hosted by Google at a subdomain of blogspot.com. A user can have up to 100 blogs per account. Up until May 1, 2010, Blogger allowed users to publish blogs on other hosts, via FTP. All such blogs had (or still have) to be moved to Google's own servers, with domains other than blogspot.com allowed via custom URLs. Unlike WordPress, Blogger cannot be installed on a web server. One has to use DNS facilities to redirect a custom URL to a blogspot domain.

History

On August 23, 1999, Blogger was launched by Pyra Labs. As one of the earliest dedicated blog-publishing tools, it is credited for helping popularize the format. In February 2003, Pyra Labs were acquired by Google under undisclosed terms. The acquisition allowed premium features (for which Pyra had charged) to become free. In October 2004, Pyra Labs' co-founder, Evan Williams, left Google. In 2004, Google purchased Picasa; it integrated Picasa and its photo sharing utility Hello into Blogger, allowing users to post photos to their blogs.

On May 9, 2004, Blogger introduced a major redesign, adding features such as web standards-compliant templates, individual archive pages for posts, comments, and posting by email. On August 14, 2006, Blogger launched its latest version in beta, code named "Invader", alongside the gold release. This migrated users to Google servers and had some new features, including interface language in French, Italian, German and Spanish. In December 2006, this new version of Blogger was taken out of beta. By May 2007, Blogger had completely moved over to Google-operated servers. Blogger was ranked 16 on the list of top 50 domains in terms of number of unique visitors in 2007.

Why to choose blogger?

The first and major reason is that blogger is absolutely free to use. Using blogger we are able to edit HTML and we can add custom templates (which determine what your website look like) to our blog, so that our blog/website can get a professional look.
The other major blogging platform is Wordpress. In Wordpress we are not able to do any HTML editing(you can do HTML editing on WordPress but you have to pay for that feature). As a result, we cannot add our own or we are not able to add third party contents to our blog like widgets. It also make's hard to customize. If you want to customize and if we need good templates, we have to pay for it.

If we need a custom domain like www.yourdomain.com we have to option to redirect. Using blogger we don't need any server space. The server is where the website is hosted. For hosting, we need lots of money. If you are using blogger you can save that. For a website, we need so much of space for pictures, files, videos etc. So using blogger you can upload all your content to blogger and is absolutely free.

Another Important reason why you should choose blogger is that blogger is highly integrated with Google+ and Google Adsence. As you know Google+ is a social networking site. There is an option to automatically post to your blogger post on Google+. This will increase your website traffic. This will also help your site to come in search results.
Google Adsence is Google's advertising company. By using Blogger you can get direct access to Adsence and you can get good earnings.

Using blogger, you can post via e-mail, smart phone etc. Blogger is available in 60 languages and in countries across the globe. If you come up with an idea while you’re on the go, use the Blogger iOS and Android apps to post it from your phone or tablet there and then.

Conclusion

By reading this post you can understand why Blogger is your best solution. I am also a blogger user. If you want to start a website/blog with every feature for free Blogger is your only option.
